Bob

Thursday, November 3, 2005

This is Bob, someone who has been in my life for about 8 years. We've shared some great times, gone out for dinner more times than I can count, took a lot of day trips together and he has just always been there.

I got a call from his mother this morning informing me that Bob is in the hospital. Tonight he is being moved to a hospice and won't be with us much longer.  He has had a drinking problem and it got to his liver.

I don't post much about my private life, but Bob deserves to be known.  He has a huge heart and a keen sense of humor, always smiling and laughing.  He was an Air Force fighter pilot, then went on to fly charter planes and worked as a flight instructor teaching students who want to fly for Lufthansa Airlines.  I used to look up every time I'd hear a small plane, wondering if it was Bob flying overhead. I guess I'll have to get used to looking up for a different reason.

Don't take your loved ones and friends for granted. you never know what tomorrow will bring.
